Taking care of your lawn in the fall season will make for a fuller, more beautiful lawn in the spring. Fall brings cooler temperatures and more rain but still has lots of sunshine. The soil is still warm enough for seeds to germinate while the cool air of fall helps grass grow strong roots. So you should be feeding and reseeding your lawn this fall. It is obvious that you want your garden to look the best it can be and that starts with your lawn, it is the base of your garden, so when you plant flowers and vegetables, as well as add in a rock pathway or a fence installation, you want the look to pull together and flourish. This is why it is important to take care of your lawn.
Early Fall
Apply fertilizer to stimulate root growth and kill weeds. Try Ace Winterizer Weed & Feed or Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard with Plus 2 Weed Control- both available in our lawn and garden department.
Late Fall
Apply a winterizer fertilizer that builds resistance to the cold and provides nutrients to extend the green period in the fall and green up quicker in the spring. Use Ace Winterizer or Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard Fall Lawn Fertilizer. These products are available in our lawn and garden department.
Reseeding
Reseeding in fall is also important. Reseeding with Ace Fall Lawn Seed Mix or Scotts Turf Builder Fall Grass Seed can spruce up your lawn that may be hurting from the summer and produce a more durable, healthy lawn in the spring. Just be sure to keep the seed and grass watered and don’t use any weed control until the new grass has been mowed a few times.
