WHY LED?
LED is the typically the preferred choice. They feature longer lasting, super bright bulbs and use half the energy as incandescent. They are cool to the touch so they are safer also. The LEDs also have continuous on technology so the entire string stays lit even if 1 bulb is loose. Also you can string together 50 sets of LEDs vs only 5 sets of incandescent.
BULB TYPES
There are 4 main types of bulbs – C9, C6, Mini, & Macro.
WARM WHITE VS COOL WHITE
Warm white is cozy and inviting. It has soft glow most often associated with traditional lights. Looks great indoor and outdoor. Can be used anywhere and is a nice complement to gold ornaments and accents. Cool white is vivid and bright. It has a more snow white tone and is typically used to create color patterns such as red and white or blue and white. Cool white is a nice complement to silver decorations and accents.
HOW MANY LIGHTS DO I NEED?
The general rule of thumb is 100 lights per foot of tree/shrub.
